Curriculum

Our hands-on activities encourage children to learn concepts, knowledge, and skills which prepare them for kindergarten. We use the Montessori Method combined with teaching and assessment tools such as: Gardner's Multiple Intelligences, Tools of the Mind, Reggio Emilia, and aspects of the Creative Curriculum.

Centers and Themes

Our interrelated centers of the classroom include: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, and Social Sciences. Children learn to pour, scoop, categorize, read, write, count, add, subtract, and multiply through our monthly thematic units of study.

Some of our themes include: The Solar System, Human Body, Soil/Planting/Harvests, Fish/Oceanography, Weight/Measure, Seeds to Buds, Rainforest/Birds, Plants/Insects, Cultures/Animals around the World.

Individual and Small Groups

Learning in the environment occurs with individual attention, child-directed activities, and teacher-directed groups with three to five children.
